What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most common cooling problems in Provo.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system operating but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can verify these things, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling issues. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get you comfortable quickly.
